Our team is part of Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. Working across Lancashire and South Cumbria alongside colleagues and users of health and social care services, we connect experts by experience with experts by profession to bring you a wide range of health and wellbeing opportunities in friendly and sociable spaces.
We’re providing something different for people living and working across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Our focus is a little different to traditional models of health care, focusing on preventing ill health, living well with a diagnosis and connecting people to a wide variety of opportunities and support in their local community. We believe there’s power in community and learning from your lived experiences of accessing services will improve prevention and support people’s recovery beyond services.
It’s inevitable we’ll all need to access health and social care services throughout our lifetime. Together we aim to make it easier to navigate these complex systems whilst working alongside a wide range of community partners to ensure you know what’s available and how to access local opportunities. As well as our courses, we’re bringing our HARRI vehicle to the heart of communities to reach you at a time and place that suits you. On-board you might be able to complete a health check or we may be able to signpost you to local services who can help with any health and social needs. Check out our HARRI page for more information.
We always listen to you as an individual, learning from your experiences and creating solutions that help to put you in control of your own wellbeing. Here to support you before and beyond clinical services, we’re developing our social approach to wellbeing by listening to what really matters to you.
Our work starts and finishes within our communities with an aim to reduce stigma, improve understanding and support connections for people living with or caring for those with a diagnosis. We know, because you tell us, we work better together when it comes to improving health outcomes and reducing the health inequalities we face across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
You can expect to build connections in your community whilst learning new skills that promote feelings of control and hope. Our courses are co-produced and co-delivered by lived experience and peer experts, so you can be assured we understand because we’ve been there too. When you join us for a course you can expect an authentic and relatable experience in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you join us in person or online, we will support you to explore your personal wellbeing alongside people who truly understand.
Available to everyone aged 16 and over, we welcome all to work with us, enrol with us, volunteer with us or just pop in for a brew to find out more. When you’re ready, we will work side by side with you to support you to recognise your potential and make the most of your talents and resources. In turn, this can help you to deal with any health challenges you may experience and achieve the things you want in life.
