The Community Roots Engagement team support strong, active and inclusive communities who can influence and shape the locality in which they live and work. We will engage with communities, build links with stakeholders and forge strong partnerships with “hard to reach” groups and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise groups (VCFSE) by utilising our Health Advice Recovery Resilience Information (HARRI) bus. The trust recognises that different communities will have different needs that need to be balanced and taken into consideration when delivering services and initiatives. Community engagement is about having the mechanisms in place to enable people to get involved in the services they need.
HARRI (Health Advice Recovery Resilience and Information) is the Trust’s mobile health resource on wheels, supporting us to better engage with our communities and to offer immediate signposting, advice and guidance covering both physical and mental health for the public in an accessible way.
Utilise HARRI and its resources we will provide outreach and engagement opportunities across each locality of Trust footprint, planning community outreach in line with the Trust health inequalities and marginalized groups’ data
The Community team listen to our community’s needs, experiences, ideas and aspirations through meaningful engagement and involvement. We work in partnership with all the providers to support health literacy and helps people navigate through the health and wellbeing services, by reducing secondary care pressures.
Our community engagement teams help people by making links with existing community groups and networks or by developing new groups or activities. This is known as co-production. It is a way of working together to make sure the services available are suitable for the people who need them.
